About Linda

P1030785I have always had the travel bug! I am happiest with an airline ticket in one hand and a suitcase in the other; off I go on my next adventure.

While living in Germany I became a frequent visitor to Italy, particularly, Tuscany and Umbria.  I often traveled alone and to entertain myself, I chose a theme for each trip.  One trip was to taste wines of different regions; one trip was to find olive oils and learn how they were pressed.  I sought out linens and then looked for alpaca farms, which is how I found Maridiana!  After returning to live in the US, my friends suggested I show them around Italy and that is how Let’s Go Italy Tours was launched.

Returning to the same region each year, visiting many of the same restaurants, artists, and shops, has created a network of people who have become friends over the years. This is one of the best parts of the t

rip, visiting old friends and making new friends. Over the years my family and their family have come to know each other and people on our tours often comment on how they feel like they have been a family trip. There is really nothing like it when you are in a foreign county and you are greeted with a warm hug and kisses on your cheeks by old friends and then invited to their family tables to share a cappuccino or a meal. The people who host us at many of or stops on our trips are one of the most unique aspects of our tours. Over the years, I have learned getting lost is an adventure. The small back roads of the region hold lots of surprised and treats. We will travel these small roads of Umbria and Tuscany, going places most travelers never see. We will eat in restaurants where Italian families dine on authentic country food made from seasonal vegetables, handmade pastas drink local wines. We may alter our schedule to attend a local seasonal festival or concert we learn about during our travels. Our hosts are always a bit surprised when they hear where we have been. They remark, “How did you know about that? We have always wanted to do that!”. As with my personal travel, each tour has a theme, but in the end, it always turns out to be the theme dominated by the Italian people, culture and food! We end up spending time with your new and old friends, eating, sipping an Italian beverage and witnessing the Italian culture. Please feel free to call me and we can chat about your travel goals or just to share some great travel tales!
